Service Awards were recently presented to staff at AME System’s end of year Best Practice luncheon.
The annual awards acknowledge staff for five, ten, fifteen and twenty years’ continuous service to the company. Overall 32 staff received certificates and a specially struck service acknowledgement badge.
Highlight of the Awards was the special award presentation by owner, Peter Carthew of a gold watch to staff members, Adam Burger and Lynn Shipcott for 20 years continuous service.
Adam started working with AME Systems at the age of 19 and has worked diligently with a strong work ethics over the years to gain a high level of skills. His aim has always been for a high quality standard in the tasks he has undertaken.
Working up through the business and taking on additional training Adam completed a Diploma and Advanced Diplomas of Business Management. He advanced his career working in the Dispatch and Sales Departments and today has the busy role of Sales Manager. This is a big job to grow the business and he has grasped this with his invariable energy and a pleasant nature that seems to sit well with customers.
Taking on challenges and hitting the road in search of additional sales is not always easy, meeting people for the first time, making conversation, being away from home a lot and selling the business capabilities against strong competition can be difficult however Adam is doing well and proudly bringing in valuable additional work for the business.
Lynne or ‘Shippy’ as she is known to many in the plant, commenced with AME Systems in late 1995. Like many new staff she was a little nervous and unsure of the type of work she was going to be doing.
Initially starting in Assembly, Lynne then moved to work on the terminating machines which she was not too keen about as she couldn’t even use a sewing machine. Today, funnily, she can boast 15 years’ experience in terminating.
Over the years she progressed with a role as a 2IC, then Team Leader in the old Terminating area. During this time also she successfully completed a Diploma of Business Managements.
Today Lynne plays a key role of 2IC in the dynamic Pre Assembly Department which was realigned a few years ago and where approximately 50 fellow staff work.
Lynne, who just likes to get on with the job and would be one of the most AME System’s dedicated and loyal staff members comes into work at 6am daily preparing work for others and making sure things are all in order for the day.
In accepting their Awards both Adam and Lynne thanked AME Systems for giving them opportunities during their 20 years with the business and expressed appreciation of the support given to them by both Management and fellow staff.
AME Systems has always given, and will continue to give, people the chance to work, learn and grow and both Adam and Lynne like many others in the business are fine examples of what can be achieved by making a commitment to the workplace. electrical wiring loom
