Ross trained as a Metallurgist and has been involved in secondary manufacturing. He was employed as a General Manager responsible for manufacturing and product development of fasteners and adhesives for the building industry with multiple manufacturing facilities over a period of 25 years.
This employment was followed by a role for five years as the Australasian Operations Manager for NCI Packaging Ltd and its multiple manufacturing plants. This company produces a wide range of metal, plastic and paper packaging supplying a wide industry from paint through to ice cream.
Since retiring, Ross has become involved with a number of regional organisations including currently being the Chair of Grampians Tourism Inc., Board Member of Stawell Regional Health and previously a member of the former Grampians Pyrenees Development Board. In addition, he spends time in business mentoring with various clients.
Ross together with his wife Ruth resides at Stawell in Western Victoria. They have four children and two granddaughters.
