The manufacturing company won the category C award for its efforts in supplying the truck maker with electrical wiring systems. wiring loom
AME Systems managing director Nick Carthew said it was the first time the Ararat company had won the award.
“It is very difficult award to win in our category, we are supplying such a large amount of resources, sometimes in incredibly short turnarounds,” he said.
“The quality has to be near to perfect, delivery has to be good also along with many other areas.”
Mr Carthew said it was a team effort and everyone should be proud of the achievement.
“It takes everyone from front door to back door to be on fire for an entire year to get it right,” he said.
“The number one thing is quality people are our number one asset, without them it would not be possible to win these types of awards.”
Kenworth Trucks are the manufacturing company’s largest of 290 customers.
Mr Carthew, who has been working at AME Systems for 10 years, said it was a credit to the work done behind the scenes and over the company’s history to get it to this point.
“It is a demanding industry, if you are going to be in the Australian manufacturing industry, you have to be innovative,” he said.
“Without innovation and capital investment particularly over the past five or six years, we would not be here, we have invested heavily in the past five or so years and we continue to look at ways we can improve.”
